Exalon™ Expandable Structural Polymer is a patent-pending GPa modulus swellable polymeric material available in pumpable and solid forms for in-situ fracture initiation, to counteract embedment and widen fine fractures in clay-containing (softer) formations, and for actuating tools such as self-deploying centralizers and sand control/wellbore stabilization devices.


  • Expands 20-70% on exposure to aqueous solutions
  • Provide a structural component that can expand while still bearing load or retaining permeability
  • Ability to apply significant force (over 4000PSI) when it expands while retaining its shape or permeability, or very high force (greater than 10,000 PSIG) without retained local permeability
