HybriCap™ High Energy Density Supercapacitors

Our patented HybriCap™ is a fully functional, scalable, high-energy density film capacitor developed by incorporating an engineered nanocomposite high dielectric permittivity ceramic filler into a high-breakdown strength polymer without degrading the breakdown strength of the polymer. HybriCap™ offers energy densities of MW/cc, ideal for pulse power and large DC bus capacitor applications with high switching speeds. HybriCap™ is scalable to F sizes, self-healing, and more tolerant of temperature, vibration, and shock than MLCC alternatives.

Advantages:

  • Very high power density in the MW/cc range
  • Low loss and low ESR
  • High energy density, 5J/cc device level with no cycle life limitations, higher densities with some capacity derating.
  • Fast Discharge Speed: Release energy in short bursts (μs)
  • High Operated Voltage: From hundred volts to kilo volts, much higher than ultracapacitor or electrolytic capacitors
  • High Operating Temperature: >300°F, Next generation>650°F. with very low temperature coefficients
