XOProp™ Expandable Proppant

XOProp™ is a patent-pending expandable proppant based on phase change composites that react to the downhole environment to expand in a controllable manner and apply force, in-situ. This expansion can be accomplished while retaining permeability, and is uniform, irreversible, controlled, and has the capability to exert forces of over 10,000 PSI.

Geo Mechanical modeling conducted by FracGeo indicates that XOProp’s ability to offset closure forces, and extend open times and fracture aperture sizes can enable an approximate 23% increase in production over the first several years of well operation.
